Kirk Beasley
The book A Shot in the Dark by music industry historian Martin Hawkins describes the involvement of Bill and Jean Beasley, Kirk’s parents, in the early days of the Nashville music industry.
Kirk Beasley
Kirk Beasley was born into a music business family in Nashville, Tennessee. His father, a gifted songwriter and record producer, built one of the first recording studios there and co-founded the Republic, Tennessee, Hit, Spar, and Modern Sound record labels, to name a few. Kirk’s mother was a successful songwriter and singer, who with his father founded and administered three music publishing companies.
Some of Kirk’s earliest memories are of recording sessions. He was a voice actor at the age of twelve and began playing and singing on recordings in his early teens. He began writing songs for Nashville music publishers at age 15, guided by noted Nashville publishers Rob Galbraith, Gary Walker, Bob Beckham, and Johnny MacRae. He continued his career in music as a bass player, then went on to work as a recording engineer, piano technician, record producer, and entrepreneur in Music City and beyond.
Kirk’s first novel, Parable of the Rich Man, was published in 2016 and is available worldwide at DWM Press and from “Buy the Book” in Ireland.
Since 2018, Kirk has been working with the band +West End+ as a songwriter, an instrumentalist, and a singer.
