After graduating Davisdon High School in Mobile, Alabama, in 1964, Travis Turk started a broadcasting career in Radio at WBCA, Bay Minette, and WUNI, Mobile, as an on-air personality and engineer. While in Mobile he started a recording studio with partners Milton Brown, John Edd Thompson, and Nickoulas Panyotou. In 1968 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, changing careers to recording engineer and working with diverse acts such as the Doobie Brothers, Anne Murray, Eddie Arnold, Lobo, Waylon Jennings, Shirley Caesar, and Jerry Lee Lewis. He branched out as record producer of Jimmy Buffett and O.B. McClinton, the Nashville Jazz Machine; music publisher; announcer of Radio & TV commercials for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and Oldsmobile. He has managed highly successful recording studios: Soundshop and Creative Workshop in Nashville and Eastern Sound in Toronto and was co-owner of Audio Productions in Nashville. Hollywood has called upon Travis’s talents on such projects as The Mexican, IronMan2, The Blind Side, Elvis Comeback Special, The Sopranos, King of the Hill, and Daredevil.
